Editorial review: 24 October 2026. Exact current ranks, access scores, costs and visa entitlements are not asserted without verification.
Grenada passport research often combines travel access, investment questions and assumptions about opportunities in other countries. Those subjects need different sources and different assessments. A ranking can describe one measure of passport mobility, but it cannot determine your application eligibility or grant a separate immigration status elsewhere.
For a family considering second citizenship, begin with what you need to accomplish. That might be reliable short visits to particular destinations, nationality diversification or a broader relocation strategy. Once the objective is clear, you can evaluate Grenada alongside other suitable jurisdictions without relying on promotional claims.

Use a current ranking as evidence, not a guarantee
Consult the official Henley Passport Index ranking for the latest Grenada entry. Henley describes its index as drawing on IATA data, supplemented by research, and covering 199 passports and 227 destinations with monthly updates.
This guide does not state a numerical rank as of 24 October 2026 because an exact current snapshot has not been independently verified. A number from an earlier release should not be treated as current simply because the article carrying it mentions 2026.
Under Henley's methodology, visa-free access, visa on arrival and electronic travel authorization count toward access scoring. An e-Visa requiring pre-departure approval is treated differently. The aggregate score is not equivalent to a promise that you can travel everywhere on the list without advance preparation.
Check your priority travel destinations individually
Make a list of the countries you expect to visit repeatedly. For each, check the official entry conditions for a Grenadian passport, the purpose of the visit and the planned duration. Business meetings, paid work, study and residence are not interchangeable activities.
Visa-free access is generally about a particular category of entry, not unconditional admission. A destination may require supporting evidence, an electronic authorization or other formalities. You should verify those requirements before each trip rather than assuming the passport ranking replaces official travel guidance.
Separate citizenship from other countries' visa programs
Claims about what a Grenadian citizen might be able to apply for in another country require special care. Eligibility to seek a visa under a separate framework is not the same as receiving that visa, entering without a visa or obtaining permanent residence.
This guide makes no specific treaty-visa promise. If a separate-country visa is central to your plan, ask a qualified specialist in that country's law to verify the current requirements and assess your circumstances independently. Do not choose a citizenship route on the assumption that a second immigration application will automatically succeed.
Consult Grenada's official program authority
Investment Migration Agency Grenada provides official program information, including materials about becoming a citizen. Use the current authority's requirements and relevant legislation when comparing application channels and qualifying routes.
Confirm which options are currently available and how they apply to your nationality and personal situation. Financial commitments, fees and procedures are date-sensitive. A proposal should distinguish the qualifying investment or contribution from government charges and professional fees, without presenting a historic amount as today's complete cost.
Family inclusion and documentation
Identify the relatives you want to include now and those you may want to add later. Ask how eligible dependents are defined and what official documents are needed. An application should reflect the real family situation, not a simplified marketing example.
Accurate background and source-of-funds information is essential. Prepare a coherent record of how wealth was generated and how the proposed funds are held and transferred. Ask about document certification and translation requirements for your circumstances. Neither an investment purchase nor an advisor's involvement guarantees government approval.
Evaluate investment suitability independently
Where the chosen pathway involves property or another approved asset, examine the contract and the investment case as carefully as you would without a citizenship objective. What ownership rights do you receive? Which costs are ongoing? What restrictions govern transfer or sale? Who bears the delivery and operating risks?
The program's acceptance of an investment does not establish its future return. Obtain appropriate independent legal and financial advice, and understand how any exit plan interacts with the rules of the route. Immigration eligibility and commercial performance should remain separate conclusions.
Integrate the passport into a realistic international strategy
A second nationality may complement residence in another country, but it is not a shortcut around that country's rules. Citizenship, residence, tax residence and banking relationships each require their own assessment. Your original nationality can also continue to carry responsibilities.
Keep a dated comparison file with official sources, priority journeys and unresolved professional questions. Recheck important claims before applying and before travel. A well-grounded choice is one that still makes sense when you set the headline ranking aside.

What the underlying passport index actually counts
Henley describes an IATA-based methodology covering 199 passports and 227 destinations, updated monthly. Its travel-access score includes visa-free travel, visa on arrival and electronic travel authorizations (ETA) that do not require advance visa approval. It does not count an e-visa requiring prior approval as visa-free. The score measures short-stay tourist or business entry under specified assumptions, not immigration, tax residence, the right to work, or admission guarantees. Primary methodology; live passport ranking.
Grenada: reference numbers directly from the investment agency
The Investment Migration Agency Grenada reports a USD 235,000 National Transformation Fund contribution for a single applicant or family of four. For its approved real-estate-project route, the agency states a USD 270,000 qualifying investment plus USD 50,000 government contribution. These are not full all-in application budgets. Only qualifying investments and approved agents should be considered. Grenada IMA questions and answers.
