General requirements
- Apply under the appropriate temporary residence category of Law 25871 article 23, reading the consolidated text together with Decree 366/2025. A different Mercosur nationality route may apply; do not assume identical procedures for every nationality. [DNM]
- Provide a valid passport or qualifying Mercosur identity document where accepted, lawful-entry evidence and current Argentine domicile. Confirm photograph, file format and identity-document instructions in RaDEX. [DNM]
- Applicants over sixteen must supply applicable foreign criminal-record certificates from countries where they lived for more than one year during the previous three years. Follow the separate Argentine criminal-record procedure indicated in RaDEX. [DNM]
- Foreign public documents need the applicable apostille or consular legalization. Documents in another language require the accepted Spanish translation and certification; confirm exceptions and validity directly with DNM. [DNM]
Category-specific evidence
- Under article 23(ñ), spouses, parents or children of an Argentine may qualify; for permanent or temporary resident sponsors, the child must be unmarried, under eighteen and not emancipated, or an adult with disabilities. The published family route is temporary: up to three years for Argentine/permanent sponsors, or the temporary sponsor’s authorized period. [DNM]
- Provide authenticated birth or marriage records and sponsor Argentine identity or valid permanent/temporary residence documentation. [DNM]
- Do not infer permanent residence from this temporary family guide. Any different permanent category must be independently established under the current law and DNM procedure. [DNM]
- For minors or an adult with disabilities, provide applicable custody, consent, disability and support evidence requested by DNM. [DNM]
Family and document formalities
- Family files require authenticated marriage or birth records, sponsor identity and current residence status, and documentary support where applicable. A principal applicant’s permit does not automatically grant relatives permission. [DNM]
- For minors, provide birth records, parental identity, custody or guardianship and necessary parental authorization; ask DNM how an absent parent and age-specific record requirements are handled. [DNM]
- Confirm how the 2025 amendments affect your sponsor category, admission, health coverage and renewal. Residence permission, tax residence and naturalization are separate legal assessments. [DNM]
Five application steps
- Choose the legal category and confirm the current DNM checklist; investors should verify the productive-project assessment before committing capital. [DNM]
- Gather personal, police, domicile and category evidence; authenticate foreign documents and obtain accepted translations. [DNM]
- Start the applicable RaDEX procedure from Argentina with documented entry, following DNM’s current instructions and government payment steps. [DNM]
- Attend any required identity/biometric appointment and respond to documentary requests. Do not assume a provisional filing proves final approval. [DNM]
- Read the granted category and expiry; maintain the qualifying investment, income, employment or family link and confirm renewal conditions before expiry. [DNM]
Fees, renewals and legal distinctions
Government charges, document expenses and renewal conditions depend on the current official procedure. Check DNM/RaDEX; this guide advertises no fixed legal-service price, processing deadline or guaranteed outcome. Investor residence is not a citizenship-by-investment offer. [DNM]
