Paraguay ordinary temporary residence

No universal bank-deposit shortcut

The ordinary starting route under Law 6984/2022 is temporary residence, not immediate permanence after a bank deposit. It is generally the prerequisite for ordinary permanent residence.

Paraguay ordinary permanent residence

Documented income/means under DNM 407/2026

Ordinary permanent residence is a change from the qualifying temporary route, with the personal documents and solvency required by DNM. Ownership alone is not a universal financial test.

Paraguay SUACE permanent investor residence

MIC investor certificate; no verified fixed minimum

Investor Pass is the April 2026 expansion of MIC investor-certification options supported through SUACE. The existing DNM SUACE checklist does not define every Investor Pass implementation requirement. Confirm the applicable MIC certificate and DNM procedure; do not apply announced capital amounts indiscriminately to all SUACE applications.

Paraguay Investor Pass 2026 residence

USD 150,000 tourism / USD 200,000 securities or real estate

DNM and MIC announced Investor Pass on 17 April 2026 for direct permanent investor residence without the ordinary temporary prerequisite. The announcement is not a complete implementation checklist.

Paraguay Mercosur temporary and permanent residence

Permanent-stage solvency under DNM 407/2026

This nationality-based Residence Agreement route is distinct from ordinary Law 6984/2022 temporary residence. Mercosur political membership is not the eligibility test.

Path to Citizenship in Paraguay

Confirm current DNM and any MIC certification charges directly; no legal-service price is quoted. Translation, legalization, certificates and investment capital are separate. Submit prescribed evidence of lawful resources for your category and additional documents requested by DNM; purchase or bank balance alone guarantees no approval. Residence, taxation and naturalization are separate; no processing time or passport is guaranteed.

Requirements

Prepare a valid passport or an accepted national identity document for your nationality and route. A residence application is different from any entry visa that your nationality may require; document lawful entry and current immigration status.
Gather the birth certificate and marriage, divorce or death certificates where relevant. Match names and dates across your identity, civil records and application; use the exact original/copy format required by DNM.
Check the applicable police/judicial background certificates from abroad and Paraguay, including Interpol and local records where the official route requires them. Age, country of previous residence and document validity periods affect the checklist.
Arrange the declarations of address, intended profession/activity and compliance with Paraguayan law required by your route. Local certificates and appointments must be obtained through the competent authority; an application receipt is not the final permit.
